Mapping It All

A lot of people have been asking me where I’ve been or where I’ll will be. I have the general outline of the trip, but as the old saying goes “Man plans, God laughs.” That’s one of the reasons I named the blog “I’m Here. You’re There.”

In the spirit of it all, it is nice to have the documentation of the trip. I’m thinking if I can hack my Garmin and get all the travel data out of it and mapt it on Google. I’m sure you can somehow. That would be epic.

In the meantime, here is a Google map I set up with the locations and interviews I have set up so far. I will try to get all the spots I’ve been to on that map including route directions and what not. At least tis way you can see the overview and plan a visit to hang out. I’ve already have some takers which is fantastic.

Prologue

I look at life as a story. The different phases of it from birth to death become the chapters. But like any good story, it’s all how it’s told. If you’ve stumbled across this story, been notified by myself via the multitude of social networks or heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend, then welcome.

So what is here? Here is the journey. To catch up with people I know, meet people I don’t and to see what the makes the social network beat in its heart. As long as it doesn’t spring forth from a belly like an alien. Community is the life blood and I’d like to see the diversity of the people behind the computer screens that make it so. It’s that community communication that intrigues me.

For almost 13 years, I’ve worked in New York City. And probably worked too much. But NYC really found it’s way under my skin for both the good and bad. In all the ways you can imagine. Then the timing worked out for this little adventure. And so I leapt. For the next few months I’ll be traversing and chatting. Live a little vicariously through me. Glad to have you here. I hope to see you there.
